For this project we had to find a quote from our resilient person but since i chose someone that i haven't interviewed yet i don't have the quote. However I have prepared some questions.
1. What was the worst part about the holocaust?
2. Did you understand what was going on around you?
3. Do you ever have flash backs of what happened?
4. What do you think is the most important thing that the generations to come should know about the holocaust?
5. How long were you in the ghettos for and what was the general vibe of the people in them?
6. How did you escape the holocaust?

The Jackson Five
WHO: The Jackson Five, a singing group made up of 5 brothers, on of them being the infamous/famous Michael Jackson. Also spelled The Jackson 5 or The Jackson 5ive. Nicknamed "J5" later on.
WHAT: The Jackson Five are famous for being good singers who revolutionized the way we think about pop music. Michael Jackson launched his career after the Jackson Five disbanded in 1990, and he made his way to the top, and his reputation was greatly enhanced by his previous commitment in the group. He was dubbed "King of Pop" in 1987 - 1990 because of his booming career.
WHEN: The Jackson Five were active from 1962 - 1990 when they disbanded.
WHERE: The Jackson Five were originally from Gary, Indiana.
WHY: I think the Jackson Five are resilient because first of all it is very hard to make a name for yourself in the music industry, and since the group was made up of children made the fact that they DID make it even more amazing. They also had so much pressure from their father who doubled as their manager. They were also the first black teen idols appeal equally to white audiences. And when the group broke up, Michael Jackson was scorned a HUGE amount, but still made music. Might i add, he must also have been very resilient to the operating table, becuase he has gotten an enormous amount of cosmetic surgery, so much that i couldnt even find the exact number of surgeries that this man has had. He has gotten so much publicity from this, but mostly none of it good. In fact, so much so that there have been cartoons made about his nose. Especially cartoons about it falling off.
THE CONNECTION: The way these two kinds of people connect is because they were both underdog groups of people who had to stay strong and get through being criticized, and harsh times. Even though during the holocaust many Jews were killed, those who weren't stayed strong, and during the time of The Jackson Five people put them down just becuase they were African American, and they also had to stay strong!

The holocaust
The people that i researched for this project was Mike and Gussie Zaks. Mike and Gussie Zaks were two holocaust survivors. Both of them were originally from Poland. When they were sent to the concentration camps they were sent to Auschwitz.
They were resilient because they had to go through one of the hardest times in history just because they were a different religion. Them, being Jews, were not thought of as equals to Hitler. During the holocaust they were probably around being teenagers. Now a day they live on to tell the story of the holocaust from a first hand witness' perspective.
The current people were the Jackson 5. The way they connect is because they were both underdog groups of people who stayed strong and got through being criticized. Even though during the holocaust many Jews were killed those who weren't stayed strong!
